About

Join us for "DevMeets: How Would You Scale This?" an interactive engineering series built around realistic software systems, architectural design, and the complex trade-offs engineers face at scale.

Participants are presented with foundational software architectures, current traffic and data volumes, and shifting business and technical constraints that challenge their design decisions.

The core of each session revolves around progressive constraints—ranging from massive traffic explosions and strict provider rate limits to duplicate delivery, scheduled notifications, noisy tenants, and sudden provider failures. Rather than following a rigid path, the discussion evolves dynamically as new bottlenecks are introduced, forcing participants to rethink queues, caching, database capacity, and tenant isolation.

The ultimate goal of the series is not to arrive at a single correct architecture, but to demystify how experienced engineers reason about reliability, capacity planning, complexity, and growth. By examining practical scenarios inspired by real-world platforms, attendees gain insight into the decision-making processes required to keep systems running smoothly under extreme pressure.

In this special session, featured speaker Austine Chikelue brings his unique perspective and passion for system architecture to guide the exploration. Austine will lead the discussion on how to navigate the messy realities of software scaling, helping participants analyze bottlenecks, challenge conventional choices, and understand the trade-offs behind modern engineering decisions.
